We are often asked, why do I want a gated shifter or what does a gated shifter do?The main purpose of a gated shifter isn't to look "pretty" but to provide advanced functionality and control to the driver.
A gated shifter essentially locks the park and high option out unless the lever is pulled. So, in the instance you begin to roll backwards on a jump or steep climb you can quickly shift into reverse to pull the front end back down. However, we find this shifter to be great for everyday use on the trails as well. Have you ever had to look at your dash to assure you were in low, neutral or reverese? Perhaps you have heard the nasty grinding when he shifter doesn't sit perfectly when shifting?
Eliminate the need to look at your dash or in the event of a roll over hoping you can hit reverse perfectly before shifting to park and pick up a gated shifter. Trail riding becomes more enjoyable when with a simple push forward or pull back hit the gear you want every time.
